log futon
is a great addition to any room where extra seating is needed or an extra bed. Comes with futon mattress in black. We recommend using a cover for the mattress. The logs are stained and varnished for a high quality finish.
Upkeep on our rustic log furniture
is simple. Just sand out any nicks or scratches and reapply finish... or leave as is for additional character and rustic appeal.
We choose to work with lodgepole pine as it grows naturally in the forests of NW montana and is known for its superior strength to weight ratio. It is also straighter, thus making it easier to work the raw wood into the highest quality furniture possible. Our lodge pole pine is harvested in the Kootenai National Forest via a very selective process. Skilled woodsmen select each tree with an attentive eye toward the quality, straightness and size of each specimen. After felling, each piece is hand carried to the road to ensure both the tree and the environment remain unharmed. Then each log is hand peeled, using the skip-peel method where some of the inner bark is left on the logs, creating a beautiful rustic piece of furniture for your home, lodge or cabin.
