Half Off Ponds WPSHOPVF-8000 Variable Flow Submersible Pump 8000 GPH for Ponds
Half Off Ponds Variable Flow 8000 Submersible Pump
Our Half Off Ponds Variable Flow Pumps are a reliable variable speed submersible pump for water gardens, aquaponics, hydroponics, fish ponds, and Pond Free waterfall features. Its asynchronous drive motor allows you to control the water flow with the included variable speed controller. Turn the water flow up for a powerful waterfall, or turn it down for a soothing, gentle flow. -Low speeds save on energy cost while still discouraging algae growth.
    Specifics:
High flow, energy-efficient hybrid drive technology combines the high flow characteristics of a direct drive pump with the energy-saving efficiency of a mag drive pump
The asynchronous drive motor can be controlled with the included variable speed controller to increase or decrease the pump flow as needed
Vortex impeller passes solids up to 0.25"
Engineered for 24-hour continuous use with overload sensor to prevent burnout
Oil Free; completely safe for fish, wildlife, and aquatic plants
Comes with an extra long 30-foot cord
    2-year manufacturer's warranty
Half Off Ponds WPSHOPVF-8000 Variable Flow Submersible Pump 8000 GPH for Ponds
Incredibly energy-efficient magnetic drive technology is perfect for fountains, waterfalls, ponds, and water gardens with low operating cost and quiet operation.
Asynchronous drive motor built for 24-hour continuous use. Includes variable speed controller to increase or decrease water flow as needed. Turn it up for a stronger display, or down for gentler water flow and to reduce energy costs.
Large intake screen prevents clogging while allowing the impeller to pass solids, up to 0.25”!
The Variable Flow 8000 Submersible Pump has an output of 2" with a max flow of 8,000 GPH that has an input of 2" with a max head of 31'. The pump motor operates on 130-335 watts at 4.4 amps with a 30' power cord.
Contains no oil; completely safe for fish, wildlife, and aquatic plants. Equipped with an overload sensor to prevent burnout. Backed by a 2-Year manufacturer’s warranty!
FAQs & Calculations to Help Select the Correct Kit
    1. How Many Gallons of Water does My Water Feature Hold?
    Rectangular Ponds
    Length x Width x Average Depth x 7.48 = Gallons
Example: A rectangular pond 15’ long, 10’ wide and 1.5’ Deep Pond is...
    15’ x 10’ x 1.5’ x 7.48 = 1683 Gallons
    Oval Ponds
    Length x Width x Average Depth x 0.8 x 7.48 = Gallons
Example: An oval pond 15’ long, 10’ wide and 1.5’ deep is...
    15’ x 10’ x 1.5’ x 7.48 = 1683 Gallons
    Round Ponds
    Length x Width x Average Depth x 7.48 =Gallons
Example: 15’ long, 10’ wide and 1.5’ Deep Pond
    15’ x 10’ x 1.5’ x 7.48 = 1683 Gallons
    Streams
    Length x Width x Average Depth x 0.25 x 7.48 = GALLONS =Gallons
Example: 15’ long, 10’ wide and 1.5’ Deep Pond
    15’ x 10’ x 1.5’ x 7.48 = 1683 Gallons
    2. How Big of a Pump Do I Need??
Minimum pump size is determined by pond type, water volume, head height and friction loss. The minimum pump size recommendations are:
    Water Garden, Few Small Goldfish
Circulate total pond water valoume every 2 hours.
Example: 2,000 GPH pump for a 3000-gallon pond with 2’ waterfall.
    Fish Pond, Several Small Fish
Circulate total pond water valoume every 1 hour.
Example: 3,800 GPH pump for a 3000-gallon pond with 2’ waterfall.
    Koi Pond, Several Large Fish
Circulate total pond water valoume every 3/4 hours.
Example: 2,000 GPH pump for a 3000-gallon pond with 2’ waterfall.
    Calculating Head Height
Dynamic head pressure is found by taking the vertical height of your waterfall; the distance between where your pump is (typically in the skimmer) and where your waterfall is, and adding the static head pressure (pipe and fittings) 1’ for every 10’ of tubing and 1’ for every elbow or “T” fitting.
    Example: 3' (vertical height) + 2.5 (25' of tubing) + 2' (for 2 elbows) = 7.5' of Dynamic Head Pressure
    Note:
It is important to take into consideration while calculating how much flow will be at the top of your waterfall by accounting for the head height due to the laws of fluid dynamics. Please refer to the flow chart above to help choose the correct pump.
