Collectible~Vintage Buttons~Dixie Mix Tin Box w/Lid~1940's~Dixie Mix was a baking mix that was available in the 1930's and 1940's, that was meant to yield a "true Southern Style Fruit Cake."  In addition to purchasing the mix, you were provided with a tin to store the baking delicacy when finished. The logo on the lid of tin, is a man guiding a camel. The official name of the mix was "Dromedary Dixie Mix." A dromedary is a type of one humped camel.
Tin measures approx. 6.0" x 3.0" x 2.75". There is wear, scratches, and a few dings on the tin. In addition to the tin box, is a plastic bag that contains a little over 4 ounces of a variety of buttons from the 1940's to 1960's.
