Antique Canadian Production Spinning Wheel Crank Arm
This item came from a Canadian made Spinning Wheel, believed to have been made around the late 1800's.
Hand forged, most likely made of wrought iron, the type of metal no longer available in our century.
Overall length of shaft, tip to inner edge of first arm is approx 6 inches.
Length of square section in the middle is approx 2 - 1/4 inches.
Diameter of round portion of shaft, where it would ride in the uprights, is approx 5/16 inch on the footman side. Spinner side tapers from about 5/16 diameter down to less than 1/4 inch diameter.
A remarkable, and rare, piece of Canadian history.
